Musik rock atau musik cadas sebagai salah satu genre musik yang sangat digandrungi anak-anak muda yang gelagak semangatnya sedang dalam puncak-puncaknya. Darah mudanya bergejolak. Fase hidupnya dalam masa pencarian jati diri. Bicara musik rock di Indonesia dalam kurun waktu 1984 hingga 2004, kita tentu ingat nama promotor Log Zhelebour yang kerap dikenal menggelar Festival Rock se-Indonesia.

 

Dalam sepuluh kali gelaran (1984 – 2004), festival ini bukan saja menjadi wadah bagi grup band rock untuk aktualisasikan diri dalam sebuah ajang festival musik berskala nasional.

Dari ajang ini pula muncul nama-nama grup band, musisi, dan penyanyi rock yang kemudian turut mewarnai musik Indonesia.

 

Buku ‘Festival Rock se-Indonesia Log Zhelebour: Sebuah Tonggak Sejarah Musik Rock Indonesia’ yang ditulis Alex Palit ini termasuk langka karena jarang sekali orang yang mau menilik musik dari khasanah literasi. Kepedulian Alex Palit menulis buku musik rock patut kita apresiasi. Sebuah buku yang menguak sejarah Festival Rock se-Indonesia dan mengingat eksistensi seorang promotor legendaris bernama Log Zhelebour.

Buku ini terbagi enam bagian, pertama, Festival Rock se-Indonesia, yang membahas peta Festival Rock se-Indonesia dalam kurun tiga dekade (1984 – 2004), yang lebih mendalam lagi menguak sejarah tumbuh kembang musik rock di Indonesia era 1970-an hingga era 1980-am, hingga sampai bermuara pada Festival Rock se-Indonesia yang digelar promotor legendaris  Log Zhelebour.

 

Kedua, Log Zhelebour, Rock dan Rokok, yang membahas sosok Log Zhelebour semacam biografi sang promotor, dari lahir, besar, sampai pada kecintaannya pada musik yang berawal dari pentas diskotik yang digelutinya semasa SMA sampai pada kapasitas dirinya menjadi promotor Festival Rock se-Indonesia yang spektakuler tak lepas dari sponsor rokok. Log, rock dan rokok menjalin hubungan mutualisme yang memang saling menguntungkan.

 

Ketiga, Juara Festival Rock se-Indonesia, yang membahas para jawara pemenang Festival Rock se-Indonesia, mulai dari Harley Angels, Elpamas, Grass Rock, Adi Metal, Power Metal, Kaisar, Andromeda, Teaser, U9 hingga Mujizat Band. Kesemua nama group rock tersebut sebagian muncul dan dikenal masyarakat, sebagian lagi tenggelam hanya sekedar jawara festival.

 

Keempat, Alumni Festival Rock se-Indonesia, yang memunculkan nama-nama group rock maupun rocker yang berjaya di genre musik cadas ini, seperti di antaranya Jamrud, Slank, Boomerang, Wihzzkid, Jet Liar, Roxx, Rudal, Ralp, Sahara, Modern Gank, Kobe, Red Spider, Mel Shandy, Ita Purnamasari, Toto Tewel, Pongky Deaz, hingga Hengky Supit.

 

Kelima, Diskografi, yang memaparkan sepuluh finalis Festival Rock se-Indonesia dan jawara dari juara pertama, kedua, ketiga, juara harapan, juara favorit, beserta deretan vokalis terbaik, gitaris terbaik, basis terbaik, dramer terbaik, dan kibordis terbaik.

 

Keenam, Apa Kata Mereka, yang memaparkan sosok-sosok yang berperan seputar Festival Rock se-Indonesia, mulai dari Ovan Tobing (MC Festival Rock), Remy Soetansyah (Pengamat Musik), Azis Jamrud (Gitaris Jamrud), Raymond Ariaz (Kibordis Power Metal), Didieth Sakhsana (Basis Rock Trickle), Ayat (Gitaris Whizzid), Iskandar Sembiring (Vokalis New Cordhex’s), Tan Lioe Ie (Penyair Penekum Puisi Musik), Ecky Lamoh (Vokalis Rock), sampai Log Zhelebour, sang promotor Festival Rock se-Indonesia.

Membaca buku ini, kita jadi terbuka wawasan mengenai Festival Rock se-Indonesia yang mampu melahirkan banyak group band rock yang mewarnai khasanah musik di Indonesia.

Alex Palid, penulis buku ini adalah seorang jurnalis yang begitu tekun menulis perjalanan festival rock yang digelar Log Zhelebour. Karena, sayang rasanya kalau Festival Rock se-Indonesia tidak dibukukan. Apalagi hingga kini belum ada buku yang menuliskan sejarah festival rock ini.
