KabareTegal – Jangan ngaku pernah ke Tegal kalau belum nyobain makanan yang satu ini. Kupat Bongkok, bagi sebagian orang yang baru mendengar namanya mungkin ‘Bongkok’ ini akan diasosiasikan ke kata ‘Bungkuk’, padahal Bongkok adalah nama sebuah desa di wilayah Kecamatan Kramat Kabupaten Tegal.

Salah satu keunikan makanan ini adalah namanya Kupat atau Ketupat tapi menggunakan Lontong. Mungkin pada awalnya menggunakan ketupat namun belakangan karena dirasa lebih mudah membuat lontong akhirnya dipakailah lontong sebagai pengganti ketupat, toh bahan baku, rasa dan bentuknya sama kalau sudah disajkan dalam piring atau mangkuk. Kupat Bongkok ini berisi irisan lontong yang diberi kuah kari tempe, taoge rebus, bawang goreng, kerupuk, sambal, kecap, dan mie kenyol yang berasal dari kerupuk mie yang direbus dan dimasak bumbu pedas.

Kupat Bongkok ini memiliki citarasa seperti makanan di wilayah Pantura (Pantai Utara), yakni asin, pedas, dan gurih. Makanan berbahan dasar Tempe semangit dan Mie Kenyol ini umumnya dikonsumsi oleh warga Tegal untuk sarapan. Jadi kalau mau cari kuliner satu ini, kita harus hunting di pagi hari. Dan jangan kaget kalau menemukan penjual Kupat Bongkok ini, karena hampir bisa dipastikan kalian harus antri.

Di Kota Tegal, salah satu penjual Kupat Bongkok yang cukup legend adalah ibu Danisah. Meski sudah berusia 64 tahun, bu Danisah masih trengginas melayani pelanggannya yang biasanya sudah antri bahkan sebelum bu Danisah menggelar dagangannya. Mengaku sudah berjualan Kupat Bongkok sejak usia 16 taun, bu Danisah biasa berjualan di Jalan Serayu Kota Tegal sejak pukul 05.00 hingga pukul 10.00 WIB.

Penjual lain yang juga cukup terkenal di Kota Tegal adalah bu Isah. Kupat Bongkok Bu Isah ini berada di jalan Pemuda, tepatnya di seberang Kantor Pos Besar Kota Tegal. Menurut informasi bu Isah sudah lebih dari 40 tahun berjualan Kupat Bongkok. Saat ini Kupat Bongkok Bu Isah memiliki empat cabang yang semuanya dikelola oleh keluarga bu Isah.

Selain bu Isah dan bu Danisah, tidak sulit mencari penjual Kupat Bongkok di Kota Tegal. Saat berkunjung ke Kota Tegal jangan ragu untuk hunting makanan tradisional ini, disamping rasanya yang ‘maknyus’, harganya juga sangat terjangkau.
